300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training course covers the practice of primary to intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga. Each asana with its Sanskrit name is explained deeply. Our sessions are focused on making our students understand the intelligent way of using muscles and the breath work. With very easy approach, you will understand the sequencing and the principles of Ujjai Breath, Dhristi and the Bandhas, which are the most important elements of Ashtanga Yoga practice. We will discuss how the posture is developed as per your limitations and strengths while using the yoga props, the benefits and contradictions.  These incredible sessions can do wonders and give deeper meaning of the yoga practice to the dedicated yoga sadhakas or practitioners.

An introduction to hands-on adjustment will be included for the teacher to understand the best way of correcting their students while preserving their energy and to understand their needs and limitations. Bandhas, mudras, kriyas as well as meditation will be taught which differentiates it from level 1 Teacher Training Course.

After the completion of the Advanced Teacher Training Course from Varthamaan Yoga, the teacher will be eligible to enrol themselves for Level 3 Teacher Training Course.

Course Curriculum

Module 1: Asana Practice

Varthamaan Yoga’s Primary series (for Ashtanga teachers) and Foundation series (for Hatha teachers) are practiced everyday. Each one is provided with an opportunity to lead the whole class through the sequence everyday.

Module 2: Asana Technique / Hands-on adjustment

Topics of bandhas, mudras and kriyas are discussed thoroughly. As opposed to the level 1 Teacher Training Course, the teachers are taught how to adjust students in every asana from the prescribed series, in the right manner.

Module 3: Chanting

All the Varthamaan Yoga prescribed chants including Nirvanashatakam, Shanti mantras, Gayatri mantra and such, alongside bhajans are recited everyday as a part of the schedule.

Module 4: Pranayama

Pranayama techniques are made more intense by the application of bandhas and mudras. The session also encourages a few minutes of guided meditation practices

Module 5: Kriyas

Kriyas such as jala neti, sutra neti, trataka and nauli are practiced everyday. And kriyas such as vamana dhouti and shankaprakshalana are introduced and given a chance to practice – one per week.

Module 6: Anatomy

This module holds a lot of weightage. The teachers are made familiar with almost 20+ bodily ailments and ways to deal with them through yoga.

Module 7: Philosophy

Patanjali Yoga Sutras – Vibhuti Pada (chapter 3), Kaivalya Pada (chapter 4) and Karma yoga Sloka Sangrahah (Bhagavad Gita) will be discussed along with basics of Chakras and Ayurvedic principles.
